This little Washburn came to me as a proper restoration project - an old, tired parlor guitar with plenty of history behind it. It has now been completely restored, repaired, and set up in my workshop, and the entire restoration was documented on my YouTube channel.
The goal with this project was not to turn it into a brand-new-looking guitar, but to preserve what makes an old Washburn special while bringing it back to a reliable, playable condition.
It has that classic small-bodied parlor character - intimate, balanced, and very responsive. A great little instrument for fingerstyle, folk, blues, or simply keeping next to the couch.
The guitar has had extensive structural and setup work, including a complete neck reset and a full re-glue of the top. A damaged section of the original binding was carefully restored, and the instrument was given a complete refret with Jescar EVO Gold 2.0 fretwire.
The original ebony nut was retained, while a new ebony bridge was made and fitted with a bone saddle. The original-style ebony bridge pins and endpin were also installed.
The original tuners were replaced with a new set of StewMac Golden Age Restoration Tuners for Slotted Peghead Guitars, giving the instrument reliable modern tuning performance while keeping the overall appearance appropriate for the guitar.
After the structural work and refret, the guitar was carefully set up and brought back to playing condition.
This is a genuine project guitar from my workshop and one of the instruments featured in my YouTube restoration videos. It is being offered directly to my subscribers and followers, so whoever buys it will also be taking home a small piece of the restoration project itself.
